Saraba Uchu Senkan Yamato: Ai No Senshitachi

In 1978, Yoshinobu Nishizaki decided that it is time to end the old Yamato saga. Spurted by success of a TV-series recap movie, Yamato 1, an all-new feature film was produced that uh, 'terminated' most of the original Yamato cast. It's interesting to note that this film became popular to the point when fans demanded a sequel to the story, and this film was later reworked into a second tv season which became known simply as 'yamato 2'. Differences between the movie version and the TV version were not too subtle, as the subsequently produced TV version spares the lives of most of the cast, contrary to the original ending of Yamato 2 movie. Thus, events in this movie actually didn't happen in the Yamato universe. Anyway...
