Pudu Pudu Arthangal' revolves around Mani Bharati (Raghu) a very popular and happening playback singer,who has everything money can buy, except mental peace. The sole reason for his restive existence is his wife, Gauri (Geeta). An extremely possessive and head strong girl, she literally holds on to her husband, and dominates his life so much that even breathing becomes difficult for him. He puts up with all her idiosyncracies, till the day she makes a public announcement in a news paper that he would not be singing in future. Furious with this move of hers, Mani Bharati decides to leave his home. He meets Jyoti (Sithara) a wronged girl, who has run away from her husband in order to keep up her dignity and honor. A beautiful friendship blossoms between the two, and Mani Bharati brings her home. The ever possessive and haughty Gauri, gives a contrived meaning to their relationship. Gauri's over possessivenss becomes her unmaking and she lands up in a mental asylum. Jyoti makes a supreme sacrifice in order to bring Mani Bharati and Gauri together.
