Mutiny: The True Story of the Red October

On November 9th 1975 the Soviet detroyer `The Sentry' sailed from Riga in Latvia. On board a mutiny had taken place and the ship's commander had been locked up and the second-in-command took control, Half the Baltic fleet was sent to hunt `The Sentry' down and 60 war planes were scrambled on orders from the kremlin. The mutineer refused to be intimidated. The true story was at the time suppressed by the KGB with Western Intelligence believing that the crew was trying to defect. Deputy Valeri Sablin wanted a bloodless revolution agains the Soviet State. The mutiny failed and Sablin was sentenced to death and executed weeks after his trial.
