Prabhu (Sivaji Ganesan) a poor laborer comes running to Dr. Banerjee ('Thengai' Srinivasan) for help. Prabhu's wife is very ill, Prabhu pleads with Dr. Banerjee to come with him but Dr. Banerjee refuses to come as he feels that Prabhu cannot afford his fees. In a fit of anger Prabhu hits Dr. Banerjee; Dr. Banerjee falls unconscious on the floor. Thinking that he is dead, Prabhu escapes from Andaman and comes to India. Twenty Five years later he returns to Andaman to find Dr. Banerjee alive. From here on starts his search for his wife and family. Will Prabhu find his family? If yes, in what circumstance and condition? And will his family accept him back after so many years?
